About the annual submission
Each year organisations in receipt of regular funding from Arts Council England are required to complete an annual submission survey as a condition of their funding. This submission collects data on organisation profile, staffing, financial statements, numbers of performances, exhibition days, film screenings and educational activities and known and estimated audiences for these activities. It also collects data on touring activities.
From 2008/09, the submission has been conducted as an online survey. In prior years the annual submission was completed as an Excel document.
The annual submission is used as a monitoring document, providing evidence of the use of Arts Council England's funding including reporting to Government and other key stakeholders; supporting our monitoring of the whole regularly funded organisation portfolio - a major strand of our funding - and informing Arts Council policies, aims and ambitions.

2011/12 submission data
The 2011/12 annual submission closed on 29 June 2012. We would like to thank all the regularly funded organisations that responded.
Headline data from the 2011/12 submission was published as an official statistic on 12 October 2012. We plan to publish a detailed written report later this year.
