Through strategic funds we will continue to support Artsmark, the Arts Council’s school programme that enables schools to evaluate, strengthen and celebrate their cultural provision.
We will also continue to support Arts Award, a national qualification that supports children and young people between the ages of five and 25 to deepen their engagement with arts and culture.
Having invested in cultural education activities such as Summer Arts Colleges, National Art & Design Saturday Club and the National Youth Dance Company, we will continue to provide opportunities for children and young people to engage in arts and cultural activity, looking towards a wider reach and deeper engagement.
Strategic funding for In Harmony, a national programme that aims to inspire and transform the lives of children in deprived communities using the power and disciplines of community-based orchestral music-making, will continue.
Within our role of providing musical opportunities for young people, we will fund activity that supports high quality music making activities and reaches as many people as possible. We will ensure that this contributes directly to an increased level of Arts Award achievement and to the local music education offer, and aligns with existing activities.
