Disabled people in Devon have created an exhibition of photography and creative writing reflecting the issues they face in their everyday lives.
The 'My World' project is run by CEDA (Community Equality Disability Action) and funded by Arts Council England.
The idea for the project came from CEDA's online forum where users discussed how they would like to be able to influence how society perceives them.
Participants worked with artists to highlight the positive and negative experiences they encounter. They took photos to document the issues they face in their lives and wrote about their feelings and emotions in response to the images.
Hundreds of photos were produced, some of them using mobile phones to quickly upload them to social networking sites. As well as focussing on the theme of the project, many of the participants have gone on to gain further photography and writing skills.
Over 60 people with physical and/or learning disabilities took part in the project through the workshops, and many others have contributed photos and engaged in the online conversations.
Exhibitions of the photos took place at venues in Exeter, including the Guildhall.
