by Valerie Clarke Brajuha

Ancient boughs self-sculpted
Form Avenues in the mind
As pools of elf-green
Light life-sieved
Dapple the furtive memory
Of time set by the sun
And the task in hand
This time tunnel planted
Slows
In memory of the wild
