decibel young leaders

decibel young leaders is a web-based initiative to profile and support the development of potential cultural leaders of the future. Its focus is young people age 16–25, from African, Asian and Caribbean descent based in Yorkshire.

The website is live for a year and contains:

• organisations that work with young people
• a profile page of eight talented creatives
• information about Arts Council England and general developmental opportunities
• a monthly news bulletin

News bulletin

A talented young writer, Zodwa Nyoni, will produce the news bulletin. Zodwa is a member of Leeds Young Authors and is excited about her opportunity to contribute to the development of cultural leadership within the region.

Profiled artists

One of the profiled artists will be Delana Morton, a member of RJC Dance who hopes this project will provide new experiences to help her reach her ambition of becoming a professional dance artist.
