Writing West Midlands

Writing West Midlands is the literature development agency for the West Midlands. It aims to support development, participation and engagement in creative writing in the West Midlands.

The company encourages creative writing in all genres, developing the skills and talents of creative writers and increasing new opportunities to take part in creative writing.

Moreover, it seeks to give creative writing in the west midlands greater longevity by growing and informing audiences and readerships, primarily through a varied events programme, including the Birmingham Book Festival, as well as other providing support to other festivals across the region.

Promoting the West Midlands as a centre of excellence for creative writing is an overarching aim of Writing West Midlands and it looks to achieve this through supporting independent publishers, working with higher education institutions and providing a platform for new creative writing.
