Tiata Fahodzi

Tiata Fahodzi produces British-African theatre under the leadership of Artistic Director Lucian Msamati. Its name means ‘theatre of the emancipated’ and the company has won acclaim and large audiences for productions of new writing and contemporary classics. It develops new talent via initiatives such as Tiata Tamba Tamba and regularly partners with major London theatres. The Soho Theatre co-production of Iya-Ile by Oladipo Agboluaje was nominated for a 2010 Olivier Award and the co-production of Bola Agbaje’s Belong with the Royal Court shared an Olivier Award given to the season. In coming years Tiata Fahodzi will stage work originating in Zimbabwe and Cameroon.
