This year's Imagine Children's Festival is all about the kids taking over!
Southbank Centre will be transformed BY children FOR children, as well as hosting the top names in children's literature, dance, theatre and art. Enjoy free activities throughout the festival or just take in the atmosphere as children run the show!
In 2007 Alex Ross wrote the seminal book The Rest Is Noise - listening to the Twentieth Century. Throughout 2013 we bring the book alive, with nearly 100 concerts, performances, films, talks and debates. We take you on a chronological journey through the most important music of the 20th century and dramatise the century's massive political and social upheavals.
The London Philharmonic Orchestra, with over 30 concerts, is the backbone of this festival, which reveals the stories behind the rich, exhilarating and sometimes controversial compositions that have changed the way we listen forever.

Statistics show that women are frequently sentenced for short periods of time for very minor offences, causing chaos and disruption to their lives and families, without any realistic chance of addressing the causes of their criminality.
As part of the Women Of The World Festival 2012, Lucy Gampell OBE, Member of the Parole Board and trustee of Clinks, chaired this discussion with panellists Dr Kiran Bedi - a former Inspector of Prisons in India, Sophie Barton-Hawkins - poet, ex-offender and adviser on prison experience and Rachel Halford - Director of Women In Prison.
Along with the audience they look at the realities of women in prisons and debate how to make progress.
As part of the Women Of The World Festival 2012, Bidisha talks with former editor of 'The Lady' magazine Rachel Johnson, novelist Karen McLeod, journalist Anna Blundy and academic and writer Catherine Hakim about the idea of being a 'lady'.
Bidisha asks if the regression to a 1950s pseudo-kitsch style and domestic goddess image is a reaction against the sexism of modern culture, in which women are merely sex objects, or sexist in itself, cultivating the myth of a domesticated, etiquette-obsessed little woman.
And is the idea of ladyhood subversive in any way?
The Women Of The World Festival 2012 at the Southbank Centre presented a showcase of smart and hilarious Asian stand-up comics that are sure to defy the traditional submissive stereotype of Asian women.
Hosted by Sajeeta Kirshi and featuring stand up from Emily Lloyd-Saini, Amisha Ghadiali, Ayesha Hazarika, Kish Modasia, Precious Jade (the UK's only half Chinese, half East End psychic agony aunt!), Yasmeen Khan and Ria Lina.
Notoriously overlooked for the Nobel Prize (it went to her male colleague), Jocelyn Bell Burnell is one of the world's leading astrophysicists.
Presenting at the Women Of The World Festival 2012, she gives us a whistle-stop tour of her research and discoveries, and is then joined by space scientist Maggie Aderin Pocock to talk about life, the universe, and women in science.
Chaired by Southbank Centre Head of Classical Music and curator of 2012's Festival of Science & Arts, Gillian Moore.
Mary Whitehouse was berated for her strident views on the lack of morality in popular culture but now, popular culture is more sexualised than ever and hardcore porn more hardcore. Is censorship the answer?
To discuss this issue are Rachel Morris (psychotherapist and author), Amina Doherty (co-ordinator of the Young Feminist's Fund) and Julia Long (London Feminist Network).
They are chaired by Jude Kelly and Baroness Helena Kennedy QC as part of the Women Of The World Festival at the Southbank Centre in March 2012.
Baroness Scotland, Melissa Morbeck, Patrick Stewart and Deborah Jamieson OBE discuss the truth about domestic violence at the Women Of The World Festival at the Southbank Centre in March 2012.
As part of the Southbank Centre's Women Of The World Festival 2012, Eve Ensler provided a keynote speech addressing the situation women face in South Africa and the Congo and finishing with an special performance of one of her Vagina Monologues.
