This year we stopped and thought a while
Of how to bring a Christmas smile
To friends near and far, both new and old
And so the tale will now be told
Of how the soundLINCS fairies and elves
Decided to star in their greeting themselves
We hope you can pause and watch a while
And that our short film will make you smile
soundSPORT toured Lincolnshire in the Summer of 2011 with the largest percussion instruments available in the county. The lo-tech instruments are sculpted from junk materials and create sounds that boom, ring, thwack and crash! soundSPORT featured in eight of the county's biggest summer sporting events and engaged large audiences through performance and workshops. soundSPORT is part of Igniting Ambition, a Cultural Olympiad programme in the East Midlands which invests in projects and people that take the London 2012 Games as their inspiration to create once-in-a-lifetime cultural opportunities for audiences and communities. soundSPORT has been officially recognised as part of the UK Cultural Olympiad through its Inspire Programme.
This short video piece is an example 'output' file for a music project called soundGENERATION which is happening all over Lincolnshire until March 2012. The project is working with groups of all ages from under 5 to over 50. Each group is led by a soundLINCS Music Facilitator and at least 60 groups will be involved. Every group will create an original musical phrase and, if they agree, video record themselves playing/singing it. The groups will follow the same simple musical rules to create their phrase. All the phrases will be uploaded to an internet site where they can be mixed together by playful and interested visitors including, of course, the creators! Please visit www.soundlincs.org for more information about soundGENERATION and to learn more about the company.

A fantastic original song written by Young Singing Leader Ruby Boyd and Performed by Young Singing Leaders from Lincolnshire Secondary Schools at the Sing 66 Celebration in February 2011. This was a wonderful cumulation of a project where pupils from a number of schools had singing workshops independently at their own schools before then joining together for one day, rehearsing and putting on an inspirational performance which was webcast and watched in schools and homes throughout the county.
