GUTTED Theatre Royal Stratford 26th April - 25 May 2013
GUTTED is a fast-paced, powerful new play by Rikki Beadle-Blair. Set on the council estates of South East London, this is a story about love, family and sordid secrets told through the eyes of four brothers. When the eldest brother comes out of rehab he embarks on a truth-telling mission that triggers an unstoppable family meltdownand. In an explosive 24 hours, years of denial are uncovered and life will never be the same again.
A thought-provoking and complex drama, GUTTED reveals Beadle-Blair at his best. This is daring, shocking and intensely emotional work infused with warmth and humour.
Award-winning Rikki Beadle-Blair first entertained audiences at Theatre Royal Stratford East with the sell-out 2005 success Bashment, returning with the hugely entertaining Familyman in 2008 and the acclaimed Shalom Baby in 2011. His other plays include FIT, which, along with Bashment, has been turned into a feature film.
Suitable for aged 16+
GUTTED embraces adult themes. It contains extremely strong language and scenes of a sexual nature.

Poets' Manifesto is a theatrical experience using spoken word and theatre, where the true voices and opinions of young people on the issues of equality and discrimination are weaved into an original story. Bringing alive a world with a cast of memorable characters where poetry and creativity is banned.
The young people aged fourteen to twenty-five acted as ambassadors and asked their peers what vision they have for Newham's future. They then developed their own responses around the themes of diversity and equality.
Working with leading performance poet Kat Francois their poems have been brought together to create a manifesto for young people unlike any other you may have come across before.
Poets' Manifesto is one of the outcomes of Theatre Royal Stratford East and the Swan Foundation joining forces to find a new way of inspiring young people in Newham to get involved with politics and their local community.
Supported by The Swan Foundation
