Oldham Coliseum presents a mix of in house and visiting productions. The theatre also runs a programme of outreach and education activity throughout the year. Our investment is to support the artistic programme and core costs both for home produced main stage work, participatory and education projects.

Phoenix Dance Theatre Mixed Programme 2015 - Official Trailer

Phoenix Dance bring their Mixed Programme 2015 to Oldham Coliseum on 31st March for their only North West date on the current tour. Tickets available now: http://www.coliseum.org.uk/plays/phoenix-dance/ Mixed Programme 2015 features a double bill by one of the most influential figures in world dance, Christopher Bruce CBE including a brand new work, Shadows created by him especially for Phoenix Dance Theatre and a restaging of Bruce’s energetic study of life in the 1940’s, Shift. Having choreographed works for leading dance companies across the globe, this is the first time that Phoenix will perform any of this renowned choreographer’s work. The work also features two world premieres Phoenix Artistic Director Sharon Watson follows up her audience favourites Melt (2011) and Repetition of Change (2013) with TearFall, a new piece that builds on her exploration of science through dance using her simultaneously mesmerising and athletic choreography style. Finally, Bloom by exciting new choreographer and one of the New Adventures Choreographer Award winners, Caroline Finn, whose work often presents darkly comic expressions of life and humanity using her playful, quirky and highly engaging choreographic style.

Actors Robert Gwilym (Casualty / The Bill), Paul Opacic (Bad Girls / Hollyoaks/ Emmerdale) and Joanna Higson (Shameless/ WPC56), star in the Middle Ground Theatre Company production of Richard Harris' acclaimed psychological thriller The Business of Murder. The production is appearing at Oldham Coliseum Theatre 24 - 28 February as part of a national tour. But nothing is as it seems, and as the plot twists and turns the motive of their host Stone gradually becomes clear. They are all, it would seem, in the same business.... The Business of Murder. Starring Robert Gwilym, known by millions for his role as Dr Max Gallagher in Casualty, alongside Paul Opacic (a regular in Bad Girls, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks) and Joanna Higson, who played Maxine Donnelly for 2 series of Shameless and is currently appearing as Vicky Hall in BBC TV's WPC56. With rehearsals underway for Pheonix Dance Theatre's Mixed Programme 2015, the company shares with us this behind the scenes look at rehearsals for one of the four works on the bill: Tearfall. ---- ABOUT PHOENIX DANCE THEATRE: MIXED PROGRAMME 2015 ---- Works by Christopher Bruce CBE, Caroline Finn and Sharon Watson. Refurbishment Film -- Part Four

From January to July 2012 the Oldham Coliseum Theatre produced a whole season of productions at new locations while their usual theatre was closed for some essential refurbishment work. This is the fourth in a series of films about the Coliseum's refurbishment. The Growing Stage at Oldham Coliseum Theatre

The Growing Stage project was set up to ensure that young people in Oldham lead on the development of opportunities available to them within a professional theatre environment. Refurbishment film -- Part Three

From January to July 2012 the Oldham Coliseum Theatre produced a whole season of productions at new locations while their usual theatre was closed for some essential refurbishment work. This is the third in a series of films about the Coliseum's refurbishment. In this film take a trip into the Coliseum's building while the renovation is taking place and find out more about the logistics of producing a play outside in Alexandra Park. The theatre re-opens in October with a special gala celebration of Oldham Coliseum on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 October as well as a FREE Open Day on Saturday 27 October.
