Musiko Musika was founded in 1998 by Mauricio Venegas-Astorga and Rachel Pantin with the aim of cultivating diverse multi-cultural communities by bringing world music into education. The idea that music transcends language and social barriers informs Musiko Musika’s activities, which seek to promote community cohesion and develop personal, social and intellectual skills.
MM works with over 2,000 children each year in the UK and internationally through education projects in schools and communities, and its programme is underpinned by the principles of collaboration and participation MM continues to develop long-standing relationships with educational partners and is regularly cited by Ofsted for the quality of its work.
