Mercury Musical Developments

Mercury Musical Developments was formed in 1999 by the amalgamation of Mercury Workshop and The New Musicals Alliance, organisations devoted to nurturing excellence in music theatre composition. Before the merger, Mercury Workshop was the UK’s sole organisation dedicated to new musical theatre, while the NMA existed to support writers by enabling new productions to be aired in theatres across the country.

MMD aims to integrate new writers into the industry in order to further the production of new musicals, offering exposure, personalised advice and resources to the most promising musical theatre writers in Britain.
