Manchester Camerata is an international chamber orchestra with a renowned reputation for its education and outreach work. Manchester Camerata is one of the UK's leading chamber orchestras. Based in England's north west, Camerata is committed to enhancing lives through music's extraordinary power to inspire, communicate, educate and entertain. As Manchester's chamber orchestra, Camerata embodies the energy, innovation and vibrant creativity for which the city has won international fame.
The orchestra presents over 100 concerts per year, including an annual series at the Bridgewater Hall, Royal Northern College of Music and four regional residencies in Ulverston, Colne, Stafford and Crewe. A central part of Manchester Camerata's work is an innovative and award-winning learning and participation programme. Often inspired by the orchestra's work on the stage, the off stage work uses music as a way of enabling creative learning in many different educational and community settings.
Our funding is towards a mix of performances and education/outreach work, mainly in the north west but also throughout the UK.
