Originally opened in 1962, mac birmingham reopened in May 2010 after extensive refurbishment and is a hub of creativity and learning in the Midlands, offering over 150 creative courses and workshops for children and adults. With four performance auditoria, rehearsal and media studios, a cinema, a visual art gallery, cafe and bar, mac birmingham presents a broad range of contemporary work from both emerging and established artists across genres. mac birmingham is renowned for its family friendly and inclusive approach. Originally intended for children, the centre now caters for audiences young and old, from the local community and beyond.

Bert Hackett 'Gemini' Crowdfunding Campaign

This summer, mac birmingham is hosting a special exhibition celebrating the work of Birmingham's best-loved cartoonist Bert Hackett, or Gemini as he was known to readers of the Birmingham Post newspaper. We are asking for contributions toward the cost of staging the exhibition. In return, mac birmingham will host an exhibition launch and celebration event for Bert's 80th birthday.
