Fire & Rescue Training: Skegness Big Wheel Timelapse

An exclusive insight into Fire & Rescue training -- filmed as a timelapse from an officer's helmet, here we see F & R crews practice rescues at heights by scaling the Big Wheel at Bottons Pleasure Beach in Skegness. If they need to climb a structure to carry out a rescue, crews always attach a safety fall arrest clipped on to a solid part of the structure above their heads, just in case of any slip or fall.

Lincolnshire County Council - Exercise Towbar

Three caravan parks on the Lincolnshire coast were evacuated on 17 April 2013, as part of Exercise Towbar, to test emergency plans. Exercise Towbar took place on 17 April 2013 and saw people being evacuated from the Sutton Springs and Seacroft Parks in Sutton on Sea. Coastfields in Ingoldmells also took part in a table-top test.

UK Rescue Challenge in Lincolnshire

The UK Rescue Organisation's annual event was hosted by Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue in 2012. Held on Lincoln's Brayford at the University on Lincoln, it saw 130 Fire and Rescue teams from across the UK compete against each other in a series of simulated rescues designed to test their skills to the limit. Water rescues, car crashes and more were mocked-up to let visitors experience all the skills and thrills but none of the danger. You can follow @LincsFireRescue on Twitter.

The Olympic torch - and hundreds of very energetic children - come to Lincoln Castle

On June 28th 2012, at 7am, hundreds of incredibly wide-awake school children poured into Lincoln Castle... and the rain poured in too. Then, as the youngsters apparently performed some kind of magical reverse-rain-dance, the sun arrived in all its glory - just as the Olympic torch did the same... Footage filmed by Toby Coleman, 15, from Carre's Grammar School, Sleaford.
