John Hansard Gallery

John Hansard Gallery is a public gallery of contemporary visual art, based on the University of Southampton's Highfield Campus. It brings the work of some of the world's most innovative artists and curators to Southampton and instigates national and international partnerships, touring exhibitions, publications and research.

The Gallery is driven by the desire to explore the relevance of art practice to contemporary life and seeks to combine rigorous scholarship and research with the widest possible level of participation. Artists and communities are brought together through a core programme of six exhibitions per year within the Gallery, alongside off-site projects, tours and talks, seminars, conferences, creative workshops and projects with local communities and schools.
