Greentop's 'That Circus Makeover Thing' 2010

Greentop's Community Circus Centre was created in 1995 by Anneka Rice's TV makeover show Challenge Anneka. The project happened over a weekend, with volunteers and builders drafted in to help. In 2010 we decided to celebrate 15 years by refurbishing the place using the same formula. Staff got on the phones to plead for free kitchens, toilets and flooring, volunteers jumped in their cars and roamed Sheffield to find sponsor companies. This video shows the amazing results. Thank you to everyone who helped!

The show was commissioned as part of the celebrations for the Snooker World Championship which happens every year at the Crucible theatre in Sheffield. Wow look at all the people who came to help tidy up the centre. This was Tuesday the 31st of August 2010. All the people in the video came down to help with that Circus make over thing and stayed till 11 O' clock pm to make sure the centre was totally ready for the reopening on the 1st of september! THANK YOU everyone!

Challenge Anneka (Part 1)

Part 1 In 1995 Anneka Rice (BBC) and her team of helpers visited Sheffield. One of the biggest challenges they completed was helping Greentop become a real working training centre by giving our building a complete make over and refurbishment. This is the first part of a short version we've put together in order show just how much time energy and love went into making the St. Thomas Building into a safe, beautiful and welcoming place to learn circus skills.
