Forward Arts Foundation is an arts charity that identifies and celebrates excellence in poetry and brings it to the widest possible audience.
The Foundation does this by organising the Forward Prizes for Poetry, publishing the annual Forward Book of Poetry and co-ordinating National Poetry Day, a mass celebration that falls each year in early October. The NPD media campaign reached 50 million people in 2013 through broadcast, online and newspaper coverage.
In 2012, Forward Arts Foundation’s public art project Winning Words placed new work by contemporary poets before the audience of the London Olympics, on BBC Big Screens, on Olympic Park installations and in 33,000 schools nationwide.
