Derby Dance offers a programme of performances by emerging and established choreographers, as well as a wide range of classes and outreach work. Our increased investment allows the centre to offer competitive salaries to attract and retain staff, and to develop their artistic associate programme over the longer term.

As you may be aware, under current City Council proposals, Déda will receive cuts to its current grant funding of 85% over the next three years with nothing whatsoever in the fourth year. This places this thriving community arts organisation at high risk.
We think Déda is a unique and crucial part of the city's cultural offer. We want to show the City Council that we disagree with their proposals and highlight the importance of Déda -- what better way to do that than by dancing!
We would like to invite you to join in a special Flash Mob event at the Marketplace in Derby City Centre:
Wednesday 23 November 5.30-6.00pm
(dances will take place at 5.40 and 5.50pm)
The Flash Mob will have a disco theme (remember Katie Green's brilliant Derby Festé Flash Mob!) and will include simple but striking choreography to really get us noticed.
Rehearsals will take place at Déda on the following dates:
Sunday 13 November 10am-12pm
Sunday 13 November 12pm-2pm
Sunday 20 November 10am-2pm
Sunday 20 November 12pm-2pm
If you are interested in being part of the Flash Mob please email Helen Dawson, Marketing and Programming Assistant at h.dawson@deda.uk.com, letting us know which rehearsal slots you would like to attend. Déda has limited capacity so please try and RSVP letting us know when you will be attending.

This is about supporting the home grown dance talent of the East Midlands for one year (April 2012 - March 2013), providing the conditions that an artist or company needs to develop into a fully fledged regional and national art-maker of distinction.
You will be funding people to make new work that is both challenging and accessible, work that will engage people and speak to them in a real way. You will be able to closely follow their progress as they will be at Déda every day, as well as sharing with you the progress they are making.

Four great young male dancers perform a raw and exhilarating piece of athletic dance. Powerful and energetic movement demonstrates the virtuosity of the dancers and their connection with the music in a work inspired by opposition.
The four individuals share the same stage but are on their own journey, colliding, fighting and playing as they stampede along their own pathway.
With quirky solos, feisty duets and athletic group work, this ambitious company creates a vibrant and theatrically exhilarating performance.
