DanceEast works to be a catalyst in the promotion of dance excellence and leadership locally, nationally and internationally. The organisation brings international dance to the east of England, commissioning new work, developing talent and widening the experience of audiences. It has built a reputation for promoting the best in British and international dance, a wide ranging programme of community outreach and education, as well as continued professional development for dance artists.
DanceEast's annual community dance platform High Voltage took place on Saturday 23 & Sunday 24 June 2012. Featuring a variety of groups from across the East of England, over 180 dancers and approximately 50 musicians performed across the two days.

Martha Burke, East Youth Dance Ambassador for Suffolk, got a chance to interview Tommy Franzen who led a Street Dance workshop at the DanceEast Spiegeltent in Christchurch Park for Big Dance 2012. Tommy is a professional street dancer and was runner-up of BBC's So You Think You Can Dance show.
