TUG | Dog Kennel Hill Project

Dog Kennel Hill Project's TUG was a unique, multi-layered performance experience on and by Regent’s Canal, featuring a specially adapted heritage showboat. For the lucky few, TUG onboard was a whimsical and immersive performance unveiling notions of social aspiration and stagnation. For the onlooker from the towpath, TUG was a journey of curious spectacles, a carnival full of rich contradictions.

In To Dance Like Your Dad, Patel plays with the idea of cultural assimilation through imitation by stepping into his Indian father's shoes, imitating his words, gestures and mannerisms. This work explores how much cultural memory a body can retain, focusing on the subtleties between what is inherited and what is imitated.
