    The Corby Cube

    The Corby Cube Theatre Trust administers regional, national and international music, comedy, dance, theatre, children’s shows, family shows, digital arts and workshops for all at the the Core, an arts centre in Corby, Northamptonshire. The Theatre itself seats 450 people on three decks and includes two other performance spaces, The Lab and The Base. Events and activities take place in all three spaces across a comprehensive calendar throughout the year.

    The Book

    A group of young people aged 9-14, with little or no experience of film-making before, worked for 4 days at The Core at Corby Cube to create this short film. They were responsible for all aspects of the creation; from the initial idea, to choosing the camera angles, to setting up the shots and editing. They even managed to create all of the original music that is featured. All of this was done under the direction and guidance of film-maker Martin Steed. The film examines the imagination of one young lady as she creates 'The Book' where the characters magically come to life.

    The ThickSkin residency continues with the whole group working together in preparation for the final piece to be shown before the Blackout performance.
