Cheltenham's annual music, jazz, literature and science festivals are of international significance. The work is broadcast across the UK and internationally. They commission and present new work, and provide an education resource throughout Gloucestershire.

The Orchestra of the Music Makers - Cheltenham Music Festival

In just four years, The Orchestra of the Music Makers has become something of a phenomenon. Comprising players from across the professions, their musicians number a corporate communications lawyer, systems engineer and chiropractor alongside doctors, dentists, architects and teachers. 10 are currently undertaking their National Service, 44 are students, and the average age is 22. What draws them together is a passion for making music under charismatic conductor Chan Tze Law. They will be bringing their passion and youthful exuberance to Europe for the first time with a residency at the Cheltenham Music Festival from 5-7 July 2012, which includes a performance with pianist Melvyn Tan, and a performance at the Lichfield Festival on 8 July.
