Birmingham Repertory Theatre and Apples and Snakes, with support from the Albany, present
The Rememberers
A classic tale of good versus evil, told through rap narration, lyrics, projection, music and graphic novel illustration. Based on an original story by Kenny Baraka & Emerson Herdman. Written and performed by Kenny Baraka.
TIME: 2150 AD
PLACE: Norflyn. People's Defence Training Basecamp half a mile west of Norcon's central facility.
What if you knew everything your parents knew, and your grandparents knew and their parents, if memories just arrived in your head, what would you do with that power? Join Kia — leader of The Found, guardian of the Rememberers — as he tells the story of 16-year-old 7's discovery: that she holds the key to humankind's future.
Earth's vital signs are weakening and the Rememberers can wait no longer to battle against the sinister NorCon Corporation lead by demonic Don Marquis, in order to save the planet. With fresh water soon to run out and the enemy on her tail, will 7 accept her fate, and will she be able to call back Hope before it's too late?

Join Apples & Snakes word-wizards as they cook up wonderful ways to play with words, showing just what you can do with them. Top class rappers, poets and storytellers each with their own distinct style will send you spiraling into a poetry revolution!
Time was, a poet never ventured out of his own manor. But now the interweb has turned the world into a global village, and we're all linking hands across the county boundaries. Not only that, but the theme of National Poetry Day 2010 is 'Home', so we thought it'd be a good chance for our poets to explore the precise nature of what home means. Is it wherever you lay your hat? And is heaven a place on earth?
Featuring Mark Niel, Hannah Silva, Matt Windle, Mike Edwards & Saran Green
