Our £214.6 million capital investment programme will support organisations to develop resilience by giving them the right buildings and equipment to deliver their work, and to become more sustainable and resilient businesses.
This programme is one of a number of measures we are putting in place to help make the arts more sustainable, resilient and innovative.
Applications for stage one of the first round are now closed. The next round will open in the summer.
Available budget
We have budgeted £214.6 million of National Lottery funds for large capital grants, to be awarded over the next four years through a series of application rounds.
We have already allocated £114.6 million as a result of stage one of the first round. A further £50 million will be available in 2012/13 and another £50 million in 2013/14.
Organisations can apply for grants over £500,000.
Who can apply
We anticipate that the programme will be oversubscribed and will therefore prioritise investing in National portfolio organisations who can demonstrate that capital investment will increase their resilience in the long-term.
Visit our Eligibility page for further information on who is eligible to apply for funding.
How to apply
There is a two-stage application process:
- stage one is an online application, with organisations asked to set out their vision for the project, the amount of funding required and how the project will contribute to our goals. We'll assess applications against published criteria and let organisations know if they've been invited to complete a stage two application
- stage two organisations will submit a second application showing plans at a detailed stage of design and development to secure a grant for the sum that we have set aside on a conditional basis
Visit The two-stage application process page for further information on how to apply.
Our terms and conditions
We will make terms and conditions for large scale capital grants available before we invite organisations to submit stage two applications. You can download our terms and conditions for development award grants here.
