There are three easy steps to applying to the Creative people and places funding programme:

1. Read the guidance carefully

Our guidance is available to download in PDF and Word formats. It gives information on how to apply for funding and answers some common questions.

If you are considering making an application, you must register your interest with your local Arts Council office on or before Friday 23 March 2012

You should therefore speak to your local Arts Council office well in advance of making an application. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have and give you an insight into other people considering making an application. We will encourage applicants interested in working in an eligible location to collaborate in advance of making an application and will particularly welcome single applications by location or a group of locations.

Remember you will need to have identified key partners in your application.

Applicants to round one will be notified if they are to be invited to interview by 11 June 2012. Interviews will take place in the relevant area between 20 June and 3 July 2012. Applicants to round one will be notified of the final decision in August 2012. Activity would be expected to commence, and a more developed business plan submitted by 31 October 2012.

2. Complete the application form

i. Eligibility statement

You will be asked questions as set out later on in our guidance. This provides a check list to help you ensure you meet the criteria.

ii. Meeting the brief (your proposal and budget)

As part of your application you will need to prepare a written proposal to tell us about your project. You must use the headings as set out in the meeting the brief section of the guidance.

3. Submit your application

Your completed application should be submitted online via our application website.

Attachments and additional material are not permitted. This is to help ensure consistency in the format of information supplied. The only exception to this is for your detailed budget which may be attached to your proposal. Your application must not exceed 10MB.

The deadline for round one applications is 5pm on 13 April 2012. We will be publishing the timetable for round two applications later in the year. This is likely to be from November 2012. Some potential applicants may decide that they want to wait until the second round to apply in order to have more time to develop partnerships and a consortium.

You will receive an acknowledgement email confirming that we have successfully received your application.
