Making an application
Read the guidance carefully
This guidance explains how to complete your application form and answers some common questions, so please read it carefully before you begin.
There are two different versions of the how to apply guidance document - one version for if you are applying for £15,000 or under, and another version if you are applying for over £15,000. It is important that you select the correct guidance document for the amount you are applying for:
Please check if your activity is eligible for funding through Grants for the arts. The eligibility section of the guidance gives more information on what we can and cannot fund.
The application form
The application form asks you a series of questions about different parts of your activity including artistic quality, public engagement, management and finance. This gives us information about you, the activity you are applying for and your budget. We will use the information you give us in your application form to decide whether we will offer you a grant.
If your application does not contain the information we need in the format we ask for, we might not be able to consider your application.
If you have any further questions after you have read the how to apply guidance, please contact us. Be ready to clearly describe your activity to us, as this will help us give you good advice and will save time.
Applications to Grants for the arts are made online via our website. If you do not already have a username and password for our online application system, select 'Funding' from the menu at the top of the page and follow the links to the online application.
If you need additional support using the online application please contact us on 0845 300 6200. We can 'co-browse' your application form while you are working on it. This means we can view the screen as you see it and help you to complete any section you have difficulty with.
If you are unable to complete your application online, please contact us:

We are committed to being open and accessible, and want to make sure our services are accessible to everyone. We realise some applicants may experience barriers making a grant application or accessing our services. If you experience or anticipate any barriers within the application process or require help to make an application or accessing services and information, please contact us for information on the type of support that we can provide.
The online application allows joint working on application forms. This works particularly well for organisations, for example, where one person might complete some sections of the form and another complete other sections.
The user that started the application can share it by giving their application code to another user. To do this, they can use the 'Add other user's application' button on their homepage and enter the application code. The application will then appear in their list of draft applications.
Only one user can access the form at any one time. As there is only one copy of the form, changes made by either user will be updated in both accounts. Either user can submit the application form but the user that started the application form will receive the acknowledgement email.
If you are unsure what to do please contact us for help on 0845 300 6200 or by email to email@example.com
We wish you every success with your application.
