The following must be attached to your application to the Artists' international development fund:

Letter from your contact overseas

Ideally this should be a scan of an original letter, on the host's headed paper if appropriate. The letter should be in English, or an accompanying translation provided. Please note that we will use this to assess what the partner is offering you in terms of artistic and other support (for example, accommodation and materials). This will inform our assessment of both the Quality and Relevance criteria. If the host has a relationship with the British Council, it will be helpful if the letter were to describe how this may inform and benefit your activity during your visit.

Please note that the guidance states the scheme is for artists 'who can demonstrate an interest in their work from an overseas partner/host' (Guidance for applicants, page 2).  Applications for standalone conferences or short course fees will not be a priority.

CVs

Please see Guidance for applicants, page 2.  We will use your CV to assess the extent of your track record in England and internationally and how this project will contribute to your artistic development.

Budget

Please ensure that this is calculated in pounds sterling. Please ensure that it includes both income and expenditure and that these balance.  If your budget includes income from other sources, please explain where it has come from.

We expect you to itemise your budget and tell us how you have worked out the figures. If you are charging artists’ fees you need to detail what they are for example,  accommodation,  subsistence. You need to detail and evidence your travel costs.
