There are four steps to applying for funding:

1.    Read the guidance carefully

Our guidance gives you information on how to apply for funding and answers some common questions.

2.    Fill in the online application form

Use our online application to tell us about your project. The form also asks for information that we may use to report to government or to monitor the different backgrounds of people who receive funding. We will not use this information to assess your application.

You must apply online; printed applications will not be accepted. If you have access requirements and need assistance with making an online application please contact our Enquiries team on 0845 300 6200 or enquiries@artscouncil.org.uk.

3.    Include any relevant extra information

We will not consider any additional information you send after you have submitted your application. Make sure you have given us all the information we need to assess your application.

Please also read the information on mandatory attachments for your application.

4.    Submit your application online

Once you have registered online you can start your application, save your work and come back at any time to complete it. The Artists' international development programme will have three rounds for applications in each financial year from March 2012 until February 2015.

There will be three deadlines per financial year in May, October and February. The deadlines for the three application rounds within the 2012-2013 financial year can be found in the application guidance and individual artists are invited to submit proposals that start and finish at any point within a financial year (April to March). Proposals submitted in February may finish before 31 March 2014. Deadlines for future rounds will be published in due course. You may only make one application for each financial year.

To be considered for a particular funding round, applications must be submitted by 5pm on the deadline day for that round.

Any decision to offer funding will be subject to finalising an offer letter and any special conditions for grants.

Download our guidance for further information on how to apply.
