Digital R&D fund for arts pilot project
Social Interpretation: Imperial War Museum with tech partners: Knowledge Integration, Gooii and UCL and research partners: Exeter University, Salford University and MTM London

IWM and partners developed a system to enable the interpretation, discussion, collection and sharing of cultural experiences and objects with, and between, audiences. This data-driven project had in-gallery, online and mobile applications, which augmented and spread museum collections through social media and digital interaction.

The £7 million Digital R&D Fund for the Arts is a partnership between Arts Council England, the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and Nesta.
