This discussion took place at the Digital R&D in the Arts Forum in Manchester Town Hall in February 2013. In this podcast, the panel asks: how can we make the most of our data and archives? It investigates how arts organisations can make the most of data and archiving opportunities afforded by digital technologies. How arts organisations can distinguish the hype from genuine opportunities to engage audiences using digitisation of their archives; and what business models support the successful digital exploitation of archives. The Digital R&D Fund for the Arts is a £7 million fund for organisations with arts projects based in England working in collaboration with technology providers and researchers. The fund supports new digital research and development projects that aim to expand audience research and/or develop new business models.
