Our agenda sets out what we will do between 2006 and 2008 but alongside this we are preparing for our longer-term future.
We know that the arts and the Arts Council are already much valued. But we still need to connect better with the public as well as with artists and arts organisations, and with our other partners in the public and private sectors.
So, during 2006–8 we will launch a public value enquiry, talking with and listening to a wide range of people, testing with them what the Arts Council stands for, what we should prioritise and what services we should offer in the future. We will use the findings of that enquiry to refresh our purpose and inform our long-term direction and objectives.
